Splashing good times with your new friends, Wei Ling and Wei Xuan

Dearest Ashley & Abby,
Do you know that Mummy has not met Aunty Doris since graduation? That must be 16 years ago. We were hostel mate in NTU first year and attended the same Engineering course in NTU. Yet, after so many years, we chatted like long lost friends when we met. We had so much to share, our life, career and family. The feeling is wonderful! Even our kids "clicked" so well. I've captured the splashing good times with your new friends, Wei Ling and Wei Xuan in this video. Enjoy!

Hugs,

Mummy Dearest

Learning journey with Abby

Dearest Abby,

Mummy really enjoys learning new things with you. We watched the video on Daddy Seahorse giving birth to his babies, the difference between an alligator and a crocodile, and many cute videos and pictures. Through you, Mummy is re-living my childhood.

Mummy also gained new experiences like attending Ms. Chisato Kusunoki's solo piano concert. Having immersed in an evening of beautiful Russian music truly enriched my spirit. Mummy is happy to hear that you wanted to be a concert pianist like Chisato when you grow up. I'm sure your dream will come true, my sweetie pie.

Hugs,
Mummy Dearest

Yeah! We left our footprints on the 150 years old railway track!

Dearest Ashley and Abby,

You may not know this but the railway track that we set foot on was 150 years old! Older than your Great-grandma. As we walked down the railway track, we are revisiting history of Singapore. Mummy took some beautiful photos of you guys together with Evan, Evelyn and Edaline. Nothing beats shared happy moments with good friends. Enjoy!

Hugs,

Mummy Dearest

Lindy, Katey and Abby's happy sleepover, painting, swimming and dancing

Dearest Lindy, Katey and Abby,

Mummy loves to watch you three sisters play, paint, swim and dance together. It brought back the sweet memories of me, Godma and Ee Ee when we were your age. Remember girls, when you share your happiness, your happiness is doubled. When you share your sorrow, your sorrow is halved.

Have fun watching your swimming video!

Love,

My able assistants in the kitchen

Dearest Ashley & Abby,

Last Sat was a memoriable day for me. My day started with Ashley waking me up at 7am to prepare breakfast and lunch. Ashley was such a great help especially it was the first time Mummy was trying something new - baked potatoes for breakfast and La Wei Fan & Liang Dou Fu soup for lunch.

Ashley helped Mummy springled the cheese and bacon bits on the baby potatoes and peeled shallots/baby onions. Together with Abby, both peeled 10 quail eggs for the soup. Good Job!

Am so happy when you guys and Daddy enjoyed my cooking so much that you finished everything and asked for more. I also packed some for Ah Ma and she gave positive feedback. So encouraging.

On Tue, I tried preparing the white fungus with pear dessert that Aunty Celine taught me. Unfortunately, you guys don't like it. Mummy was quite disappointed at first as this took a long time to cook the dessert. However, Mummy decided to continue trying by baking your favourite chocolate sponge cake yesterday. Bingo! You guys love it! We will bake a cookie and cream cake this Sun together! Can't wait.

Guess where did Mummy and Aunty Celine learn how to bake chocolate sponge cake? From a young man who was demonstrating how to bake a sponge cake using a ceramic wok! Eventually, we bought the wok and the baking power from him. He even showed us how to make popcorn using the wok. Yesterday was the very first time that Mummy stood through a cooking demo at a shopping mall for 20 mins. Never knew it can be so fun! Will introduce you to the young chef. He is really good!

Mummy is going to the wet market with Aunty Celine now to buy some fresh fish for tomorrow's porriage breakfast. I feel like a little girl playing "masa masa", cooking and baking new stuff. This afternoon, we'll making durian puffs, Daddy and Mummy's favourite. Yes, I've also taken your order of the new improved version of ham & cheese spaghetti, mushroom soup and mac & cheese.

Hey, sometimes it is fun to try new things. Sometimes, it is also fun to try to do the same thing in a new way! Thanks to my inspirational friend cum cooking teacher, Aunty Celine. 3 cheers for her!!!

Love you,
Mummy, the late bloomer chef-in-the-making

Hilarious rhyming stories by Abby

Dearest Abby,

Mummy enjoys listening to your rhyming stories, so hilarious and imaginative!

Two Little Rabbits
The rabbit is happy and flappy all day
The sleepy rabbit copies the happy rabbit
The rabbits eat tibits together
They climb up the window and jump off the topsy turvy roottop

A chicken and my bag
Sand in my hand
Flag in my bag
I ask a chicken to carry me so I can carry my bag

The Princess, the Hare and the Snake
The Princess frowns on the brown gown
She prefers the pink gown
Suddenly, a Hare scares the Princess
Then the Hare shares jelly beans with her
They visit the Pinkalicious cake shop to eat delicious orea cheese cake
They spotted a snake and use a rake to shake the snake
The snake shouted," Drop the rake! I'm hopping home."
They didn't listen and continue to splash water at the poor snake

The Adventure of the King
The King had a ring that sings and swings in the breeze
The King had wings that brings him to the ding dong swing
He ran with a pan in his hand and a can on his head
He met a fan man who said to him, "Relax, lets have a tan at the beach."
After his tan, he met a humming top
A cop was chasing after the humming top and shouted," Stop, humming top!"
Suddenly, the cop bumped into a mop and both went "plop" into the river

Well done, Abby.

Love,
Mummy Dearest

Ashley, 奶奶 is touched by you

Dearest Ashley,

Do you know what makes Mummy happy? Today, 奶奶 shared with me that once you collected the box of pop corns from the cashier, you split into 2 bags: one for you & Ashton and one for 奶奶 and 爷爷. A simple gesture like this made your grandparents and your parents very happy because you remembered to share your food with others, especially your grandparents.

Do you still remember your first overseas trip to Perth when you were 2.5 years old? 奶奶 and 爷爷 took good care of you. Now that you're older, you can take care of them.

You're indeed a good role model for your younger cousins, especially Ashton who was with you yesterday. Do you know that you have taught him a valuable lesson on loving and respecting your grandparents when he saw you sharing the pop corns with 奶奶 and 爷爷. This is a very powerful message. Leaders lead with their actions, not words.

Mummy chanced upon your Perth photos: one with 奶奶 and 爷爷 in the background and one running photo. I've put your recent running photo together. What a lovely sight, my beloved Prince!

Hugs & Kisses,
Mummy Dearest
